House of Brothers and Sisters- or the 3rd and 11th Houses

The 11^th House indicates elder Brothers and Sisters. The strength or the weakness of this House is indicative of the existence, non-existence or the loss of the elders born. The influence of the planets male or female and the constellation, they situate in, decide the sex of the elders born. In like manner, the 3^rd house for younger brothers or sisters should be examined with reference to the occupation, ownerships and etc. of the planet concerned. Besides the examination of the house, mars the karaka for brothers and sisters should be taken into consideration.

For Example:

Suppose Lagna is Libra and Jupiter is in 3^rd house in Sagittarius sign.

3^rd from Lagna governs younger brothers and sisters.

Jupiter in 3^rd, in Sagittarius sign and in Purvashada female constellation of Venus.

The birth will take place in any one of Venus’s three constellations i.e. Bharani, purba, and Purvashada.

Actually the birth was in Bharani;  and it was a female child.

For Example:

Suppose Lagna is Taurus and Mars in 1^st house, sun and mercury in 2^nd house and moon in 7^th house.

The Lord of 3^rd house moon is in jyeshta mercury constellation.

It is seen that moon is in debilitation. But inspite of that native has younger brothers and sisters. Mercury the lord of the constellation is in its own house. Thus debilitation effect is nullified. Mars is in Krithika where he becomes a rajasa and beneficially disposed.
