Planets

About The Sun

One thing to remember about the Sun is that it brightens the quality of the planet it comes in conjunction with. It does not get influenced by other planets, but rather illuminates their qualities through sheer brilliance and brightness. This is especially true when the Sun is behind the other planet or has the lowest degree in the conjunction.

About The Moon

One thing to understand about the Moon is that it's the one planet in astrology that gets influenced the most when in conjunction. The Moon is a dark, cold, and lifeless place, but it is revived due to the light from the Sun. This is why each planet brings his or her own reflection upon the Moon through which it shows its color, lust, and quality. One thing to remember about the moon is the day of the phase you were born on. There are two phases in the astrology that are considered malefic and benefice for the Moon. Waxing Moon is benefice, while Waning Moon is malefic; depending upon which phase you were born into, it will either work for you or against you in certain cases.
The Moon in astrology represents your mother, or motherly figures, your emotional response to your environment, and your imagination, since the Moon is your mind. The Moon shows the way you think and react to situation. How emotional or un-emotional you are depends upon the condition of the Moon. The Moon is also a watery planet, as it controls the sign of Cancer.

The Moon controls government, since it is not as strong as the Sun, it represents our local or state- government versus the federal government.

About The Mars

Let's talk about Mars. Mars is a soldier who stands for his beliefs. Wherever it is placed in your horoscope, you stand for those beliefs, and that's where you energy goes. Mars is energy. It's our will power and vitality. Mars represents our ability to take action towards something. It also represents the anger we carry within us, as a soldier needs to have a certain level of anger within him to fight and win the battle. In this day and age, Mars represents policemen, soldiers, athletes, warlords, arms dealers, and fighters, along with manufacturing, accidents, injuries, and dealing with explosives. Mars also represents male friends and the Sun represents royalty, so these people can be in contact with friends who are of a higher status in society, perhaps sons of politicians and celebrities.

About The Mercury

Mercury is known as the prince in Vedic astrology. He is the royal messenger for the king. He delivers the important messages of the king to others. He is the karaka of communication of all kinds.
Mercury also represents speech and our inner playfulness, since princes love to party and have a good time. Since he is a royal, he takes his duty as the messenger seriously. This is why Mercury is also intelligence, because in order for anyone to have good communication, one needs to be intelligent. Mercury is also our business and management skills due to his calculative and logical nature, and love for the marketplace.

One thing you must remember about Mercury is that because it is a neutral natural, it can become benefic and malefic at the same time. If Mercury is in conjunction with a natural benefic, then it acts like a benefic planet. If Mercury is with a natural malefic planet, then it acts like a malefic. If Mercury is with both natural malefic and benefic as in Venus, Mercury, and Saturn, then look at the difference in degrees in all three of them. The closest degree to Mercury will influence Mercury more, however if Venus and Saturn are both within 5 degrees of Mercury, then it gives mixed results.

About The Jupiter

Jupiter is the knowledge we gain in this lifetime. It is the concentration we put into learning something. Jupiter is the teaching of our father and educators. Since the father is the first teacher for a child, Jupiter automatically becomes the teaching and preaching of fathers and father figures. Jupiter also represents our belief system and our ability to follow the law. Jupiter is the lawyer in astrology; he writes the law and either makes the person follow it or resent it depending upon its condition. Jupiter also represents a husband in a female's chart. Mars is not the husband,Mars represents male friends. Jupiter is the guiding force in every woman's life. He is also wisdom. We learn from our teachers, whether its Nazi theology, Christian theology or Vedic theology.

The source of wisdom and belief is controlled by Jupiter in our chart. Our higher learning is dependent upon Jupiter, from basic education to a Master's degree and PhD. It represents the rituals of our culture, our traditions, and ability to follow them. Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system, which is why it represents the expansion of things related to where Jupiter sits in your horoscope. Now if that expansion will be positive or negative, early or late, depends upon other factors and planets. Whenever Jupiter is in the ascendant, 5th House and 9th House, it shows a person is capable of learning several languages. Jupiter in jyotish is also an indicator of wealth, finance, children, luck, travel, and gains in life. It is pretty much the karaka of the 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 11th House in a horoscope. This is why Jupiter is one of the most important planets after the Moon. Jupiter is the source of optimism in astrology.

About The Venus

First and foremost, Venus represents relationships. It shows the value we put on relationships and how we react to them. The main focus is on romantic relationships. Venus is also about comfort, as relationships and love give us that feeling. Further, Venus also represents the convenience of luxurious items like a car, air conditioning, clothing, jewelry, wealth, and beauty inside the home. Since Venus signifies pleasure, it can be any kind of pleasure: sex, art, entertainment, interior decoration, beauty pageants, or anything else related to having fun. Venus in a man's chart also shows his wife, or the type of women he comes across in life. Venus signifies marriage for both men and women.

About The Saturn

Saturn is our limitation in life. It sets boundaries to what we can and cannot achieve. It's the wake up call, as Saturn shows you the truth and reality of life. Most of us are walking around day dreaming, and have an illusion of our elicit future. But during Saturn's dasha, and Saturn’s transit, we are awakened by the harsh reality that exists around us. We are forced to be more practical and disciplined about our goals rather than searching for them on an esoteric level.

About The Rahu

Rahu is the north node of the Moon, and is a head without a body that keeps devouring things without ever being satisfied. It has a desire for material things and worldly accomplishments. It wants to achieve the highest success possible in whatever house and sign he represents. Rahu represents the goals that have been set by the universe for us to achieve whether we like or not. Rahu is mainly known as the eclipse, and it eclipses the Moon and the Sun whenever it's in conjunction with them. This means temporary darkness upon the native's life when the Sun and Rahu are in conjunction in a birth horoscope. Rahu also brings fear and stressful situations into our lives. This is due to Rahu's adventurous nature that loves surprises. With Rahu, sudden events take place; events that may not be a real part of our lives but rather an illusion that becomes reality. Rahu is taboo breaking and crosses all kinds of boundaries. It wants to be unique and break tradition; to think outside the box. He is also responsible for spiritual breakthroughs, because only after achieving material wealth does one seeks God.

About The Ketu

Ketu is the south node of the Moon and the rest of the body of Rahu. This is a headless body which represents separation, isolation, and the abandonment of the material world. This shadow planet represents spirituality, nothingness, and goals that we already achieved in past lives. In this life we are here to only rely on those things as a last resort. The house and sign in which Ketu sits are in things we are not fond of, and we do not obsess about those things as much because subconsciously we know we have already dealt with them. If we didn't accomplish those things in a past life, that would be seen by Ketu's bad placement in a bad sign. This will show a tug of war between both Rahu and Ketu. Ketu also searches for truth and enlightenment. Ketu's aspect and conjunction gives research ability to a person especially when it's in conjunction or aspects the Moon and Mercury.

Ketu tells the person,”Hey, you have done this before, forget about it”.
